This poem is written for the students of class 1 or lower; however, children studying in the 2nd grade can also use it if they want to recite a poem in Punjabi on environment, cleanliness or similar topics.
The main intention behind writing these poems is to make our children aware of the language and how to pronounce words, while at the same time driving a social message home.

ਪਾਣੀ ਗੰਦਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ
ਪਿਆਸ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬੁਝਾਓਂਗੇ
ਹਵਾ ਗੰਦੀ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ
ਸਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈ ਪਾਓਂਗੇ
ਬਿਸਤਰ ਗੰਦਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ
ਸੌਣ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਓਂਗੇ
ਕਲਾਸ ਗੰਦੀ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ
ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਪਾਓਂਗੇ
ਮਨ ਗੰਦਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿਲਾਓਂਗੇ
