Interview with Dilip Tirkey: Olympian and Captain of Indian Hockey Team

Indian Hockey team’s ex-captain and former Olympian, Dilip Tirkey hailing from Sundargarh, Orissa. He played as a full-back and was known for his skills throughout the world. He is the most capped player of Indian Hockey Team and played 412 matches. He was best known for his penalty corner hit. He debuted in 1995 against England.[2] He represented India in 1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Olympics and had a total of 412 international caps. He is the only Adivasi to represent three Olympics.

He was awarded Arjun Award in 2002 and Padma Shree in 2004 .
