How to Take Screen Shots in Ubuntu

Taking screen shots in Ubuntu is easy. Once you have opened the program windows or if you want to take screen shots of the desktop itself, the only thing you will have to do is press the “print screen” button on your keyboard.

Once you press the “print screen” button, you will be prompted to save the screen shot as .png file. You can change the location of the file to saved.

Now if you want to take a screen shot of the particular window and want to avoid the background of your system, there is an additional command:

you will need to press “alt+print screen”, which will exclude the background of your system. This is how it will look when you take the screen shot of a particular window.
