ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும், திருவிழாவின் தேதி ஆடி மாதம் 18 ஆம் தேதி தான். இந்த நாள் ஆடிப்பெருக்காக தமிழகத்தின் பெரும்பாலான பகுதிகளில் ஆற்றங்கரைகளிலும் கோயில்களிலும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. திருவிழாவிற்கு முன்பே, எங்கள் முழு கிராமமும் நிகழ்வுக்குத் தயாராகிறது, மக்கள் தங்கள் வீடுகளை சுத்தம் செய்து புதிதாக வண்ணம் தீட்டுகிறார்கள். இந்த கோயில் ஒப்பிடமுடியாமல் அலங்கரிக்கப் படுகிறது. மேலும் மக்கள் எங்கள் கிராமத்தில் உள்ள உறவினர்களை சந்திக்க எமது ஊருக்கு அவரவர் சுற்றத்தார் வீடுகளுக்கு வருகிறார்கள்.
திருவிழா நாளில், கோவில் வளாகம் ஏராளமான கடைகள், கேளிக்கை சவாரிகள், உணவகங்கள், போட்டி மற்றும் திறமை தேடல் நிகழ்வுகள், விளையாட்டுகள் மற்றும் பிற அம்சங்களுடன் விரிந்து பரவுகிறது. முழு சூழலும் வண்ணங்கள், வாசனைகள் மற்றும் ஒலிகளால் நிரம்பி ஐந்து புலன்களுக்கும் ஒரு மகத்தான விருந்து கிடைக்கிறது. விழா நாளன்று முத்துமாரியம்மனுக்கு தேர் உலா நடக்கும். இந்தக் கொண்டாட்டங்கள் மூன்று நாட்கள் நீடிக்கும். இறுதியாக இந்த விழா அனைத்து வயதினருக்கும் விளையாட்டு மற்றும் கலாச்சார போட்டிகளுடன் முடிவடைகிறது.
Our Village Festival Essay in Tamil
Ours is a small and beautiful village in Kancheepuram District of Tamil Nadu. Nallur is the sweet name of our village which means a good village. Befitting its name, our village is a wonderful place to dwell in. Muthumariyamman is the deity of our village and the temple built for this goddess on the banks of River Shankarabarani is a famous destination for a lot of people living far and wide. Year on year, our village conducts a festival for Muthumariyamman in the month of Adi Tamil month. Here I detail some of the highlights of our village festival.
Every year, the date of the festival is fixed on 18th of the Tamil month Adi. This day is also observed as Adi Perukku in most parts of Tamil Nadu with celebrations in river banks and temples. Much before the festival, our entire village gears up for the event and the people clean their homes and paint them anew. The temple is decorated beyond compare and people pour into the city visiting their relatives in our village.
On the day of the festival, the temple complex swells up to a huge proportion taking in a lot of shops, amusement rides, eateries, competition and talent search events, games and others. The entire environment is filled with colors, smells and sounds, treating each of the five senses in a sumptuous manner. The deity goes in a chariot on the day and the celebrations last for three days finally concluding with sports and cultural competitions for all age groups.
