Indian Cricket Umpire Suresh Shastri was born in Rajasthan but moved to Bombay. He was a keen observer of the game during his childhood and became a bowler. He played Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy before moving towards umpiring.

Interestingly, he happens to be the first disciple of Sachin Tendulkar‘s Guru, Sri Ramakant Achrekar.

He tells about the difficulties that an umpire could face and how being a former player could help an umpire understanding the possible behavior of the players.

We present a telephonic interview with Suresh.
