This poem, written maybe around 14-15 years ago, won me an international diploma and was widely acknowledged by many friends and acquaintances. I was studying in engineering at that time and was really writing a lot of poems, though my language was not at all refined.
I feel the students of 8th and upper classes can easily use this poem for any recitation competition.
I would like to hear any comment or feedback if you have through the comment section.
Learn To Smile
I should learn to live
With a smile on my face:
To endure happily and hold my grimace.
I should learn to live
With love for all in my heart:
To set the odium away and apart.
I should learn to live
With a zeal to serve:
To make my words an action and not a proverb.
I should learn to live
With no fear to die:
To get the aim of life or to try.
I should learn to live
With amity with others as my base:
To make this world a happier place.
I should learn to live
With a smile…
