Karna makes his final sacrifice
Vineet Garg describes Rahul Dravid as the Karna if we take the analogy of Mahabharata related to Indian Cricket. He says that Rahul Dravid, right from the start of his career, has been overshadowed by equally deserving and shining players of Indian Cricket, but Dravid out of his sheer passion for the game, relentlessly worked to pursue perfection.
He sacrificed his batting number for the cause of the team. He served as the Wicketkeeper for the team (two World Cups) and also opened the innings many a times. Vineet says that Dravid is one of most determined and focused players of his generation and the whole Cricket world acknowledges this fact. He has remained one of the most performing and promising batsmen overseas.
Vineet wishes that Dravid continues to serve Indian Cricket in one capacity or other and impart his vast international experience to the youngsters who are not that much attracted to classic art of the game.
We present Vineet’s views on Rahul Dravid’s retirement, which has conveyed a message to all the Cricket lovers with an undertone of helping the team as a whole.

A few moments ago…I was watching TV and they were showing an interview of Mark Taylor as he was telling about Chennai test of ’99. He was saying that Warney was bowling great in those times and we went there after playing against Tendulkar in a practice match versus MUMBAI in which also he smashed their team.
So Warne bowled little outside leg(We all know about his turn,,,his outside leg balls could also hit tip of off-stump!) and Tendulkar banged him straight over his Warney’s head. And Thomson walked to Warne suggesting bowling a bit slow and giving it a bit more air. Tendulkar did the same thing again. Then he went Warne again ,,,this suggesting to go around his legs ….but Tendulkar did the same thing again…. ….Thomson went again…asked to change the angle and bowl from Round the wicket…. Result again the same….. over came to an end…….
Mark Taylor went to both of them as for a little discussion and asked Thomson what now? and his reply was:
“I THINK WE ARE IN SERIOUS TROUBLE NOW!”
So good and a fuuny to hear it from Taylor and from Warne later in the show but it shows is definite: GREATNESS!

माइक-आचार्य विनीत गर्ग जी को तथा फोरम के सभी सदस्यों को नरेश का सादर नमस्कार.
हालंकि मैं इस फोरम को प्रतिदिन पहले की तरह लगातार पड़ता रहा हूँ क्योंकि इस फोरम के साथ अटूट जुडाव रहा है और इस फोरम के जरिये मुझे यह गर्व हासिल है की मेरे विनीत गर्ग जी के साथ प्रत्यक्ष सम्बन्ध रहे हैं .फिर भी मैंने काफी समय पहले यह निश्चय किया था की अब मैं फोरम पर नहीं लिखूंगा (जिसका कारण मैं हरेकृष्णा को भी व्यक्त कर चूका हूँ) लेकिन विनीत गर्ग जी का मार्गदर्शन व प्यार , हरे भाई का स्नेह व उस महामानव की क्रिकेट से विदाई जिसके लिए मैंने 1993 से लेकर आज 2013 तक ( शायद अंतिम बार) क्रिकेट को पल पल देखा है, मुझे मजबूर करते है की मैं फिर इस फोरम पर अपने दिल की बात लिख दूं.
शायद यह भी एक विडंबना ही है की उस खिलाडी जिसने बल्लेबाजी के नए आयाम स्थापित किये लेकिन मेरे दिल को उसने पहली बार छुया Hero Cup में दक्षिण अफ्रीका के खिलाफ बतौर गेंदबाज़. जब बड़े बड़े गेंदबाज़ उस अंतिम ओवर में गेंदबाजी करने से घबरा रहे थे तो उसने कप्तान से गेंद मांगी. शायद क्रिकेट की क ख ग समझ रहे मेरे जैसे बालक (उस समय मेरी उम्र 10 वर्ष की थी) को उसकी इस अदा ने सदा के लिए अपना बना लिया और उसके बाद तो सब कुछ अब एक इतिहास है.
मैं अक्सर इस फोरम पर भी लिखता रहा हूँ की मेरे लिए क्रिकेट केवल 02 ही लोगो के कारण है – एक सचिन और दुसरे विनीत जी. मुझे बहुत बार यह भी महसूस हुआ है की शायद सचिन के आउट हो जाने पर या सचिन के किसी मैच में न होने पर विनीत जी की कमेंटरी का स्तर भी शायद उस स्तर तक का नहीं रह जाता था जो उस समय होता था जब वह सचिन की बल्लेबाजी को सम्राट के विशेषण के साथ बयां कर रहे होते थे. एक नाम और जिनका यहाँ मैं विशेष तौर पर जिक्र करना चाहूँगा- स्व० सर सुरेश सरैया जी. सचिन के आउट होने पर उनकी कमेंटरी में भावुकता साफ़ झलकती थी. वानखेडे में उनके शतक से चुकने पर सर सुरेश की स्तब्धता आज भी मेरे जेहन माँ ताज़ा है. आप दोनों की कमेंटरी में यह अंतर आना स्वभाविक था क्योंकि हम उस दौर के भी गवाह रहे है जब सचिन के आउट होने पर टीवी/रेडियो बंद हो जाया करते थे और स्टेडियम से दर्शक खिसक जाया करते थे. हमने वो भी वक्त देखा है जब टेस्ट मैचों मैं पूरा भारत जल्द से जल्द भारत के 02 विकटों का पतन होता देखना चाहता था ताकि वह दुलारे सचिन को बल्लेबाजी करते हुए देख सके.
1993 की उस बचपन भरी अवस्था से मैंने जो क्रिकेट के साथ नाता जोड़ा था, वह किशोरावस्था व युवावस्था मैं भी जारी रहा. बहुत बार स्कूल/ कॉलेज/ युनिवर्सिटी की क्लासों को मिस किया, बहुत बार घर के जरुरी कामो को छोड़ा, बहुत बार आर्थिक नुकसान झेला- इसी क्रिकेट के कारण. कई बार ठन्डे दिमाग से सोचता था की इस क्रिकेट को छोड़ दूं जिस कारण कई बार परेशानी पैदा होती है लेकिन हर बार फिर वही एक चेहरा ( सचिन ) सामने आ जाता और लगता जब तक वह खेलेगा क्रिकेट मेरी जिंदगी में बना रहेगा. शायद अब मेरे लिए क्रिकेट के मायने भी सिमित रह जायेंगे.
भारत में शायद क्रिकेट का क्रेज अब भी बना रहेगा. टीम इंडिया शायद अच्छा भी करती रहेगी बावजूद इसके, उनके बिना वह क्रिकेट नहीं रहेगा जो मेरे जैसो को इस खेल के साथ जोड़े रख सके. हाँ, वो सुखद यादो को ज़रूर सहेज कर रखना पसंद करूँगा जिन्हें शायद अगली पीढ़ी तक पहुंचा कर अपने आप को गौरवान्वित महसूस कर सकूं.
सचिन के बारे में जानबुझ कर कम लिख रहा हूँ क्योंकि उनके बारे में बहुत कुछ लिखा जा चूका है, कहा जा चूका है. और उनके बारे मैं क्या लिखूं . अभी तो एक कार्यक्रम और बाकी है जो सचिन के ऊपर आने चाहिए और वो है हमारे प्यारे विनीत जी की आवाज़ में सचिन की सेवानिवृति पर एक विशेष कार्यक्रम, बिलकुल वैसा जैसा राहुल द्रविड़ के बारे में था. मुझे इसका इंतज़ार रहेगा.

watched a bit of WI innings today and noted a few general things ,,among which main point is: It’s little bit opposite in Indian Cricket: what? =attitude. The former appeared to me quite full of it while he was fielding and did some mis-fields/good-fieldings as well but look on the face was “something” in each case.
I think Kohli has started dropping catches as well,,the simple ones. I don’t what is contributing to that in his case –may be a long term future reference to Sachin Tendulkar,,,like OVER THE MOON.
Moreover our players somehow manages to show this attitude/anger or whatever it is,,,on our own players: Like Harbhajan didn’t slap either of Symonds/Hayden or Clarke who accused him in that monkey gate but well came back…and Sreesanth is the victim.
