English Poem–More Than Punishment

Posted on Posted in English Poems

It is easy to live with the conviction and assurance that one has not offended and trespassed your command, my King.

The biggest thing in this world that one needs is you and your thought.

It is again easy to live with the knowledge that one has somehow committed faults and will be punished accordingly, for, the matter is clear, and looks okay.

But what about the plight of a customer like me who knows nothing about your pleasure and displeasure.

I am unable to decipher which act of mine has displeased you, for, you don’t seem ready to talk to me.

It is better to punish than lengthening the time of verdict on me. You know what: I die every second with the shameful realization that I have somehow disobeyed you!
