List of 10 Similar words in Sanskrit and German (Deutsch)

We have been working on finding similar or common words in different languages and Sanskrit. My main motive for listing these words is just enjoyment based and I do not want to impress upon some idea. There are many languages that have similar words with Sanskrit and being passionate learning new language, I try to compile them and share with my readers.

While listing the present list, I have bracketed the English meaning of the words so as to give the idea what meaning I am talking about in the German language.

  1. Hände = plural, Hand = singular (german)
    Jungen = plural, Junge = singular
    “Mir” can’t be just translated as “Me” because it depends on the context.
    You like me = Du machst mich.
    This belongs to me = Das gehört mir.

    You are right in telling that mir can’t be translated as me, but it is used that way. My only intention is to find some similarity not to impose it. Thanks again!
