hCentive–Online Insurance Platform
Very recently, three Indian entrepreneurs have combined again to build a startup company in the domain of online insurance platform. It is named as hCentive. Launching this platform, the entrepreneurs wants to provide an easier solution for finding online insurance policies to the residents of VA, USA. hCentive is also maintaining a health blog where they post tips and news about health, healthcare and health insurance.
hCentive has hired some professionals in India and has built up a team that operates from Noida, India.

hCentive is in the business of simplifying the complex world of health insurance. Using our health insurance exchange, individuals, families and small businesses can search, compare and buy suitable health insurance online from leading health insurance providers.
Apart from health, world hunger is an issue close to hCentive’s heart. For this reason, we work together with Feed My Starving Children (www.fmsc.org) to share a part of our revenues to feed starving children who cannot afford even one meal a day. Who’s behind hCentive
Sanjay Singh (CEO)
As the co-founder and CEO of hCentive, Sanjay drives the company strategy. Sanjay is passionate about building a customer centric organization which has been a common theme of his 20 years of professional life.
Prior to hCentive, Sanjay co-founded GlobalLogic, a software product engineering company which is now a 3000+ employee organization. At GlobalLogic, Sanjay led all aspects of the company’s business operations, including on-boarding of clients, defining and evolving the company’s service offerings, and ensuring client success. Sanjay continues to be on the board of GlobalLogic.
Sanjay started his career with Wipro as a software engineer and has extensive experience in the Telecom, Insurance and Finance domains. Sanjay’s interests include US history, public policy and politics. You can follow his blog at http://sanjaysinghsblog.blogspot.com/
Sanjay has a masters of technology from the IIT, Kharagpur, India.
Manoj Agarwala (President & COO)
As President & COO of hCentive, Manoj oversees company’s operations, finance and marketing.
Prior to co-founding hCentive, Manoj Agarwala co-founded GlobalLogic. At GlobalLogic, Agarwala played number of executive management roles including Global Business Development, M&A and Sales Operations. Agarwala has been instrumental in acquiring a number of companies, steady stream of clients and structuring a number of strategic partnerships.
Manoj has a Bachelors of Technology degree in Computer Engineering from National Institute of Technology Calicut (formerly known as REC Calicut) and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.
Tarun Upadhyay (CTO)
Tarun is still just flatly amazed by the power of the Internet and its ability to level the field and help the little guy compete with the biggest organizations. Those little guy success stories are what drags him to work every morning.
Prior to co-founding hCentive, Tarun served as a co-founder and CTO and VP, Engineering for GlobalLogic where he grew the engineering team from 0 to first 400 while revenues rose from 0 to 10M+
Prior to Globallogic, he was co-founder and CTO of Pinelabs – an India-based provider of Loyalty and Payment solutions using Smart Cards. While Tarun was CTO, Pinelabs grew from a drawing board idea to a suite of successful products running at many fortune 500 companies handling millions of credit card transactions per day.
Tarun holds an M.S in Mathematics and Computer Applications from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India.
Hassan Rifaat (Advisor)
Dr. Rifaat most recently served as a Senior Vice President of the Eastern Region for Coventry Health Care. He previously served as a Regional CEO and Market President for Humana in Illinois, the Southeast Region, and Louisiana.
Prior to joining Humana, he co-founded and served as Vice President of Sales for HealthMarket, which offered consumer driven health plans to small and mid-market companies. Earlier, as Director of Alternative Medicine at Oxford Health Plans, he created one of the first alternative medical plans in the industry and received national recognition for its success.
He earned his M.D. at the University of Virginia and holds an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Harvard University.
