A few days back, 10th November to date it, I went to Epicentre, Gurgaon to watch a Japanese movie. I was intrigued about this movie because I thought I would be able to watch something related to Martial Arts of some other exotic Japanese stuff. I entered in the hall and waited like 10-15 minutes for the movie to start. I did not start and I got out and rode back home.

Srjanaa Art Exhibition at Epicentre, Gurgaon
Sounds like I wasted my time! No, I did something else, which sort of made my trip to Epicentre. There was an art exhibition put up by a team of artists, painters, sculptures, photographers. Before painfully waiting for that Japanese movie to start, I visited that hall and had a good time there talking to artists and painters.
Curious to know about a painting that was put up outside a hall, I moved towards that hall and was pleasantly received by a group of artists who had put up their own creations in that exhibition. I introduced myself to them and told them how I like to enjoy something related to art though I come from a science or engineering background. They were quite nice while talking to me.

One of major anomaly they made for me was that they allowed me to take some pictures of their art creations, which actually kind of not allowed because lots of unscrupulous people try to steal the creation and violate the copyrights. I told them that I won’t be doing that and would make utmost efforts to preserve their creations in my shots from being violated on copyright grounds.

The exhibition was literally beautiful and I never expected that paintings and drawings could be so thematic and interesting. Given that this was the first time I ever visited an art exhibition, my surprise would be termed as newly-found. However, I can assure you that the creations had credibility and surely lots of effort went in when those artists created them.

The exhibition was put up by a team of 12 members. I met four Kumar Gaurav, Priyanka Sharma, Rakhi Tanwar among them. At the same time, I also met Abhishek Tanwar, who is the President of Ark Foundation in India.

One of the most amazing facts that surprises me whenever I meet somebody who is so full of talent in these forms of art is that there is little that Indian press cares about. There is not much exposure to these sorts of exhibitions even in the public press. Students and upcoming artists need a lot of media attention if the society wants them to thrive on their passion. Commercialization of their interests (though needed) would kill the artistic pursuits that would perhaps love to follow. This is where I actually find my personal blog a place to write about them. Apart from writing for my magazine and online version, I write about these sorts of exhibitions and programs on here so as to give back to people who allow me to enjoy art in its purest of forms and also to provide some sort of exposure to their efforts.
I hope some of my readers like it whenever I write something in that genre. Thanks readers!
