What basically twitter is

I have not been using Twitter that enthusiastically as I should and could have. However, lots of users are following me using this wonderful social media tool that allow you to connect to people throughout the world and share your updates with them.

The most striking feature that I noticed in twitter is the brevity of message: only 140 characters. This makes updating yourself on twitter so easy and precise. You do not have to read long and boring stuff to know what your friends and other concerned persons are doing. On other social networking sites, you have to navigate a lot through different tabs before you could find out what everyone is doing.

Twitter is like a web-SMS that is sent to all who is following you. I was sitting with my friend Lokesh Goyal and he coined this word–Web-SMS. I immediately thought that I will do a post about twitter and share with my friends what twitter basically is.

The brevity and instantaneous characteristic of this tool is making it popular with everybody.
